Created in 2001, HealthServicesNW provides patient financial services to health care facilities in Washington.  Jointly owned by Providence Health & Services and Swedish Health Services, it provides business office support to Providence and Swedish hospitals and long-term care facilities in Washington.  That support includes hospital and patient billing, customer service, insurance claims collection and account maintenance.  HealthServicesNW is located in Renton, Washington.

HealthServicesNW:

• Posts an average daily deposit of more than $6 million

• Electronically transmits about $106 million in claims each week

• The Regional Business Office has annual billings of $5.5 billion

• Processed $91.5 million in financial assistance/charity in 2004

Since HealthServicesNW was implemented, both Providence and Swedish hospitals have seen a decrease in their accounts receivable days by approximately 30 days each.
